Walk on the Wild SideSaturday, October 11, 2008 War Memorial Building lawn (next to the San Diego Zoo)5K (3.1 mile) Walk The 3rd Annual Walk on the Wild Side (a fundraising event for the 2008 Year of the Frog campaign) provides the unique opportunity to stroll through the world famous San Diego Zoo before it opens to the public. Enjoy an opportunity to meet Joan Embery and animal friends. All registered walkers will be given an event t-shirt and goodie bag and FREE admission to the Zoo valid for the day of the event. This fun event has a serious purpose - to bring awareness to domestic violence in our community. The YWCA of San Diego is hosting this unique event which will feature men walking a mile in high heel shoes. The walk will start at the corner of 4th & K Street in Downtown San Diego and finish at The Tin Fish where a post-walk reception will follow. Click here to learn more.
